Light duty towers

Light duty towers are typically towers less than 100 feet in height that are not engineered to CSA standards.

CSA towers

CSA towers have been engineered to comply with the current CSA standard and are certified to having been installed according to the design. CSA tower design provides a structure that a) has been designed to support the customer’s antenna load, including any projected future additions, based on historical wind conditions for the site, b) has had the foundation designed to suit the local soil conditions (determined through a Geotech investigation of the site by a qualified Geotech consultant) and c) has been installed according to the design as certified by stamped “as-built” engineering drawings.

Light duty towers have an application as a low cost solution for required antenna height in some applications. A CSA standard tower is typically several times as costly as a light duty tower of the same height and is used where system reliability, safety, and liability concerns justify the cost. Some jurisdictions will not approve a building permit unless the tower is CSA standard.
